LET'S TALK, jueves 13 de abril a las 12:30 h. en Seminario ó a las 16:30 en Fondo Local

This week let’s talk about literature and censorship. In some of the more radical states of the USA books are being removed from public and school libraries for merely referencing homosexuality, abortion or other issues which seem to offend the sensibilities of certain religious groups. In the UK there are calls to rewrite the works of popular authors such as Jane Austin or Roald Dahl to remove references which today are considered racist, sexist or misogynistic. In libraries in Russian occupied Ukraine books in Ukrainian along with books about darker periods of Russian history were systematically removed. What’s going on? Is there ever a case for censoring literature?

Come along to your public library for a fun chat in English on Thursdays at 12.30 or 16.30. For further details please ask at the information desk.
