Let's talk about artificial intelligence. The science fiction world of machines developing minds of their own and taking over the world may not be just be an authors dream according to Stephen Hawking. The idea that machines could collectively collaborate to eliminate the human race may not be as far fetched as it sounds. Today machines replace human labour at an ever increasing rate, cars can drive themselves, and there are computers capable of learning to anticipate chess moves based on the experience of previous games much the same way as a human brain does. Can we save ourselves? Come along to your public library for a chat in English.
