 Let’s talk about housing. Accommodation, despite being enshrined in the constitution, is becoming very difficult to find in Spain as pressures of tourism and speculation limit the supply of accessible rental properties for ordinary working people. Demonstrations have been held in many highly touristic areas demanding change. However it is a complicated market for government to control with a balance between the right to ownership and the right to fair rents.

With the excuse of the celebration of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, on the 25th of January, there will be a rendition of 2 of his celebrated poems to open the session.
