Let's talk about education and how it has evolved over time. The emphasis changes regularly with legislation and the curriculums are altered with dubious attention to the needs of society and the requirements of the job market. However the underlying objective of literacy in the "3 Rs" (reading, writing and arithmetic) is often overshadowed by attempts to mould the morality and ethics of young minds in direct conflict with the message being promoted by television, the press and advertising agencies.
