LET'S TALK, Thursday 22nd y Friday 23rd of May
This week let's talk about freedom of speech. The morals and values of the enlightenment that drove the concept of freedom of thought and expression are under threat and being constantly eroded by everything from narrow minded government to rampantly selfish economic interests. We are continually reminded that to speak out against such muzzling is foolhardy, will get nowhere and is ultimately dangerous in that it can lead to imprisonment or worse. Here's a video of a conference on the subject: http://fora.tv/2008/08/04/Big_ Ideas_Forum_Protecting_the_ Legacy_of_Freedom#Frank_ Furedi_Links_Climate_Crisis_ to_the_Idea_of_Humanity
