Waste no, want not. As the excesses of Christmas set in, spare a thought for the starving millions. Our current system of agricultural production, transportation and distribution causes massive amounts of food to be thrown away at every point along the chain. Even once processed, packaged and purchased, a proportion still ends up in the rubbish. All this and maybe even a Christmas surprise on Thursday at 4pm or Friday at 6.30pm.
